Katie Brown, MD offers physician-to-physician consultations for patients with diagnosed or suspected Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS).
Patients with complex chronic fatigue are often passed from specialist to specialist, managed by a primary care doctor who doesn't understand why they are sick. Dr. Brown partners with your doctor to help them care for you. Her consultation services educate your physician on ME/CFS management and gives them direct access to an ME/CFS expert to consult on your case.
After two years of managing her own ME/CFS specialty clinic, Dr. Brown is transitioning to a consultation-only service. This will not only allow her to see more patients and to help patients all over the world, but it will allow her to teach other doctors, so that all patients can get the care they deserve.
Because Dr. Brown will provide recommendations to your doctor, not to you directly, she is not bound by her area of licensure. Therefore, doctors anywhere in the world are free to reach out to her for guidance. She is happy to assist other healthcare professional as well including Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Naturopaths.Once consulted, Dr. Brown will guide your doctor on which history, tests and physical exam information to collect. She will then meet with them to interpret your information and provide her expert recommendations. She will provide a written, detailed plan for your doctor to follow that is tailored to your case. Your doctor is also offered a way schedule follow up appointments to troubleshoot and plan further treatment.For her services, Dr. Brown will bill your physician directly. It is up to to your doctor how much to charge you.
